Our Favorite Travel Shoes

Our Favorite Travel Shoes
Patricia Yao

Picking out shoes when you own a shoe store is harder than you might think – there are just so many favorites to choose from! With summertime pretty much here already, you’ve probably got some travel adventures coming up. Bringing the wrong shoes can be a painful experience and easily ruin a trip, so we recommend planning ahead.

Evelyn and I are traveling to Asia this month and trying to decide which pairs to bring with us (and we try to pack light, so bringing them all isn’t an option!). We want something versatile enough to wear with most or all our outfits, and we need our shoes to be comfortable for travel, exploring a new city, nights out, and everything in between. Here’s a list of the styles we’re trying to decide between:

Hoka Transport:

This is a great hybrid shoe that can be worn all day. It also doubles as a running shoe in a pinch (we only recommend using it for light runs), which is perfect if we decide to squeeze in some exercise on our travels. It’s currently Taiwan’s rainy season, so the Transport is a great option with its water-resistant upper.

Hoka Bondi 7:

These are honestly the ultimate walking shoe. Hoka brought back the fan-favorite Bondi 7 for a limited release and they’re already selling out – for good reason! Our favorite is the Peach Whip colorway, which goes with plenty of other colors, making it versatile for multiple outfits.

Vionic Uptown Loafer:

Packable, lightweight, and supportive? Sign us up! Plus, they’re so easy to style with a classic silhouette. Vionic created the perfect travel shoe that can be dressed up or down and will be comfortable all day long.

On Cloud 5:

With a variety of colors to choose from, On has something for everyone. These lightweight, slip-on sneakers are great if you have a full itinerary. Wear them all day and all night and discover the beauty of pain-free footwear.

Josef Seibel Claire 01:

Looking for a white sneaker to match every outfit? Look no further than the Claire 01. With an updated silhouette and more padding, the new style from comfort brand Josef Seibel is a great option for days spent wandering around a new city, trying new foods, and discovering new cultures.

Aetrex Vania:

If you’re tired of athleisure and need a sandal that can last all day, the Vania will be your go-to travel shoe. With a memory foam footbed and stabilizing arch support, you won’t regret getting lost in a new city with these adorable sandals.

Be sure to let us know which ones you think should make their way into our suitcases. Oh, and don’t forget to break in your shoes before you leave!
